Lie­be dem Fo­rum Pre­di­ger­kir­che freund­lich Zu­ge­wand­te

Mit Freu­de sen­den wir Ih­nen hier ei­ni­ge wich­ti­ge PRO­GRAMM-punk­te zum En­de des Weih­nachts­fest­krei­ses (see eng­lish be­low). We­der ein ful­mi­nan­tes 1700 Jahr Ju­bi­lä­um ei­nes gros­sen «Wir», noch die vor ei­nem Jahr ge­fei­er­ten 1600 Jah­re für die iri­sche Bri­gid von Kil­da­re schlies­sen un­se­ren dies­jäh­ri­gen weih­nächt­li­chen Fest­kreis ab. Da­für la­den wir Sie mit der er­sten Klang­rei­se des Jah­res ganz herz­lich ein zu ei­nem «Kam­mer­mu­sik­kon­zert der Ro­man­tik»: Die drei Wer­ke die­ses Abends wer­den zei­gen, wie un­ter­schied­lich Kom­po­ni­sten mit Klang­far­ben und me­lo­di­schem Aus­druck um­ge­hen. Schu­berts Ro­sa­mun­de-Satz ver­bin­det ru­hi­ge Li­ni­en mit fei­nen har­mo­ni­schen Schat­tie­run­gen. Dvořáks Ba­ga­tel­len ent­fal­ten in der sel­ten zu hö­ren­den Be­set­zung mit Or­gel ei­ne be­son­de­re Leich­tig­keit und rhyth­mi­sche Klar­heit. Bruchs Kla­vier­quin­tett bringt den war­men, weit ge­spann­ten Ton der Spät­ro­man­tik ein­drucks­voll zum Leuch­ten. Pas­send zum En­de des weih­nacht­li­chen Fest­krei­ses zu Licht­mess. 
Das Kla­vier­quin­tett von M. Bruch, Ba­ga­tel­len Op. 47 von A. Dvořák (mit Or­gel) und der 1. Satz aus dem Streich­quar­tett Ro­sa­mun­de von F. Schu­bert er­war­ten Sie am

TANZ UND BE­WE­GUNG 

Auf die zwei­te und drit­te Durch­füh­rung ei­nes neu­en For­ma­tes mit Tanz und Be­we­gung in der Pre­di­ger­kir­che mit Dy­na­mix freu­en wir uns na­tür­lich sehr am  Mon­tag, 9. Fe­bru­ar und 9. März je von 18h bis 21h. Sie kön­nen spon­tan teil­neh­men. Auch hier wird viel­fäl­ti­ger Schwung ga­ran­tiert. Vor­kennt­nis­se sind mög­lich, aber nicht nö­tig.

ÖKU­ME­NI­SCHER GOT­TES­DIENST ZUM VA­LEN­ST­INS­TAG 

Ei­nen wie schon ver­gan­ge­nes Jahr mit ei­nem Se­gens­team be­glei­te­ten öku­me­ni­schen Got­tes­dienst zum Va­len­tins­tag fei­ern wir am  Sonn­tag, 15. Fe­bru­ar, um 11h. Ak­tu­el­le Her­zens­be­zie­hun­gen, sei­en sie frisch oder reif­lich er­probt, be­kom­men so ei­ne krea­ti­ve und gut ver­wur­zel­te Zu­wen­dung im un­sag­ba­ren Be­reich der tief­sten Kost­bar­keit, die Ih­nen in Rich­tung Früh­ling Flü­gel oder Spros­sen ver­lei­hen möch­te.

Am  23. März tref­fen wir uns viel­leicht zum Ge­spräch mit Ni­co­le Baran­dun um 18h aus­nahms­wei­se im Ca­fé Mot­ta, die Wirt­schaft in der Wirt­schaft nimmt un­ter die Lu­pe. Du­ke Seid­mann, Wirt­schafts­dia­kon mo­de­riert ei­ne ziem­lich si­cher lehr­rei­che Be­geg­nung für un­ser Mit­ein­an­der in der Alt­stadt und das Nach­den­ken über un­ser Wirt­schaf­ten in meh­re­re Hin­sich­ten.

ALS ZÜ­RICH AUF­HÖR­TE, KA­THO­LISCH ZU SEIN. DER GRÖSS­TE UM­BRUCH IN DR ZÜR­CHER GE­SCHICH­TE  

Am Mitt­woch, 6. Mai, ein knap­pes Jahr nach dem be­we­gen­den 500 Jahr Ju­bi­lä­um der Men­no­ni­ten­be­we­gun­gen welt­weit or­ga­ni­siert der Ver­ein Fo­rum Pre­di­gern or­ga­ni­siert ein Jahr nach dem 500 Jahr Ju­bi­lä­um mit den Täu­fern ei­ne Le­sung mit Ge­spräch. Pe­ter Kam­ber, der Au­tor und Cor­ne­lia Lau­ten­schütz vom Vor­stand des Ver­eins dis­ku­tie­ren das Buch: «Die himm­li­schen Ver­su­chun­gen des Con­rad Gre­bel» un­ter dem Ti­tel: «Als Zü­rich auf­hör­te, ka­tho­lisch zu sein. Der gröss­te Um­bruch in der Zür­cher Ge­schich­te»: hi­sto­ri­scher Ro­man von Pe­ter Kam­ber — Le­sung mit Dis­kus­si­on um 18h30 in der Pre­di­ger­kir­che.

BEND­ORIM 

Mit “Bend­orim” er­war­tet uns am 10. Mai um 19h30 ei­ne mu­si­ka­li­sche Rei­se vom al­ten Ost­eu­ro­pa über den Swin­ging Broad­way bis in die Ge­gen­wart. Ei­ne Hom­mage an gross­ar­ti­ge Song­schrei­be­rIn­nen, Tex­te­rIn­nen und In­ter­pre­tIn­nen wie Mol­ly Pi­con, Abra­ham Ell­stein, the Bar­ry Si­sters, Cha­va Al­ber­stein, Ali­za Green­blattund vie­le wei­te­re. Das Quin­tett mit zwei Frau­en­stim­men, Kla­ri­net­te, Ak­kor­de­on und Kon­tra­bass ist seit vie­len Jah­ren auf den Büh­nen un­ter­wegs, wur­de auf SRF2 por­trä­tiert und spielt sein neu­stes Pro­gramm „a gol­de­ne nes­home“ (ei­ne gol­de­ne See­le): Es wird ge­schwärmt, ge­hei­ra­tet, ge­fragt und manch­mal auch ver­misst — neue Ar­ran­ge­ments und Neu­kom­po­si­tio­nen in tem­pe­ra­ment­vol­len ge­ra­den, un­ge­ra­den oder swin­gi­gen Takt­ar­ten. Cha­va Al­ber­steins wohl be­rüh­rend­ste Hym­ne an die Lie­be, Mol­ly Pi­con mit ei­nem Au­gen­zwin­kern — far­big, kon­trast­reich und lei­den­schaft­lich.

DIE WELT ZU GAST IN PRE­DI­GERN UND AN­DERS­WO 

Gern wei­sen wir hier auch auf un­ser zwei­tes Jahr mit «die Welt zu Gast in Pre­di­gern und an­ders­wo» … hin. Die Hoff­nung, die uns trägt” (1 Pe­trus 3,15) wird am 20. Mai von 18h bis 20h im Turm­zim­mer auf deutsch dis­ku­tiert. De­tails zum Jah­res­pro­gramm fol­gen.

VER­SÖHN­TE VIEL­FALT UND SICHT­BA­RE EIN­HEIT 

Der Sams­tag, 30. Mai wird ein be­son­de­rer Tag. Im Rah­men der Eu­cha­ri­stie­fei­er mit Be­ginn um 16h wird Tho­mas Münch ver­dankt und ge­fei­ert, um dann in die wohl­ver­dien­te Pen­si­on zu tre­ten. «Ver­söhn­te Viel­falt und sicht­ba­re Ein­heit» heisst der denk­wür­di­ge An­lass mit Wür­di­gung und an­schlies­sen­dem Im­biss. Wie es am Pre­di­ger da­nach wei­ter geht, bleibt span­nend, da­zu ha­ben für den be­wohn­ten Erd­kreis viel­fäl­tig af­fi­ne Men­schen wie Tho­mas Münch und ei­ni­ge ihm Vor­aus Ge­gan­ge­nen ja rich­tig viel bei­getra­gen.

BE­GEG­NUNG VON SPI­RI­TUA­LI­TÄT UND NEU­ER MU­SIK 

Ei­ne er­ste in­ter­re­li­giö­se Be­geg­nung von Spi­ri­tua­li­tät und neu­er Mu­sik ist am Frei­tag­abend mit Ves­per­be­ginn 19. und den gan­zen Sams­tag, 20. Ju­ni bei uns ge­plant. Die Aus­schrei­bun­gen wer­den im De­tail ei­ni­ge Wo­chen zum vor­aus auf­lie­gen. Nebst ei­ni­gen Mu­si­zie­ren­den und geist­lich Tä­ti­gen ist be­son­ders Pe­ter Ca­disch als Haupt­in­itia­tor zu nen­nen.

MIT­GLIE­DER­VER­SAMM­LUNG VOM 26. JU­NI UM, 19h30 

An un­se­rer jähr­li­chen Mit­glie­der­ver­samm­lung vom 26. Ju­ni um 19h30 wer­den ei­ni­ge Neu­wah­len und Ver­ab­schie­dun­gen statt­fin­den. Wenn Sie sich selbst für ei­ne ak­ti­ve Mit­wir­kung im Vor­stand in­ter­es­sie­ren, es gibt noch drei Ge­le­gen­hei­ten sich vor der MV da­zu zu ent­schlies­sen. Falls Ih­nen un­ser Pro­fil zu­sagt, sind Sie herz­lich ein­ge­la­den sich bei Karl Flücki­ger zu mel­den, um un­ver­bind­lich an ei­ner Vor­stands­sit­zung zu er­fah­ren, wer wir sind, wie wir zu­sam­men­wir­ken und wo­von wir träu­men, bzw. wo­für wir uns en­ga­gie­ren und um das, was Ih­nen wich­tig ist mit uns zu stär­ken.

ERST­AU­GUST­FEI­ER WIE­DER UM 9H30 

Die 4. mul­ti­re­li­giö­se Erst­au­gust­fei­er wie­der um 9h30 auf dem Zäh­rin­ger­platz ist üb­ri­gens auch schon in Pla­nung, als kon­struk­ti­ver Bei­trag für un­ser Mit­ein­an­der in Ver­schie­den­heit und be­lieb­ter Auf­takt zur of­fi­zi­el­len Bun­des­fei­er auf dem Bür­kli­platz ist sie in­zwi­schen schon bei­na­he eta­bliert und bleibt doch stets ei­ne Über­ra­schung.

UN­TER DEM AHORN 

Un­ter dem Ahorn wer­den wir wie­der­um ei­ni­ge öku­me­ni­sche Aus­tausch­stun­den ver­brin­gen im Som­mer, dies­mal rund um das The­ma Ido­le. Ei­ni­ge Mitt­woch­abend­stun­den zwi­schen dem 14. Ju­li und dem 12. Au­gust sind da­für re­ser­viert, nä­he­re In­for­ma­tio­nen und An­mel­dung wird ab Pfing­sten mög­lich sein. Mit dem Be­ginn der Schöp­fungs­zeit am 1. Sep­tem­ber flat­tert dann der zwei­te News­let­ter für das 2026 in Ih­re Mail­box oder (auf aus­drück­li­chen schrift­li­chen Wunsch) in Ih­ren Brief­ka­sten.

Dear Fri­ends and Mem­bers of the Fo­rum Pre­di­ger­kir­che

Last year we ce­le­bra­ted two ma­gni­fi­cent ju­bi­lees, 1700 ye­ars of shared Chri­sti­an pur­po­se and 1600 ye­ars of the Irish Bri­gid of Kil­da­re, but neither brings this year’s cy­cle of Christ­masti­de fe­sti­vi­ties to its clo­se. To com­ple­te this cir­cle, we would in­vi­te you to this year’s first sound quest, na­me­ly a Cham­ber Mu­sic Con­cert from the Ro­man­tic Era, du­ring which th­ree works will show the di­ver­si­ty wi­th which va­rious com­po­sers deal wi­th to­nal co­lour and me­lo­dy. Schubert’s Ro­sa­mun­de mo­ve­ment com­bi­nes so­ot­hing li­nes wi­th de­li­ca­te shades of harm­o­ny. Dvorak’s Ba­ga­tel­les un­fold wi­th light­ness and rhyth­mic cla­ri­ty in a ra­re­ly per­for­med or­che­stra­ti­on which in­clu­des the or­gan. The mel­low, broad to­na­li­ty of the la­te ro­man­tic is high­ligh­ted in Bruch’s pia­no con­cer­to. The­se works bring the Christ­masti­de ce­le­bra­ti­ons to a fit­ting clo­se at Cand­le­mas.

On Mon­days, 9th Fe­bru­ary, and 9th March we look for­ward to the se­cond and third pre­sen­ta­ti­ons of a new in­ter­pre­ta­ti­on of dance and mo­ve­ment in the Pre­di­ger­kir­che wi­th dy­na­mix. You may join in spon­ta­neous­ly, pep and va­rie­ty will cer­tain­ly be on the agen­da. If you al­re­a­dy have ex­pe­ri­ence good and well, but this is not ne­ces­sa­ry.

ECU­ME­NI­CAL VA­LEN­TI­NE’S DAY 

As we did last year, we shall on­ce again be hol­ding an ecu­me­ni­cal Valentine’s Day ser­vice of bles­sing wi­th a spe­ci­al­ly ap­poin­ted team on  Sun­day, 15th Fe­bru­ary, at 11.00. All re­la­ti­on­ships of the he­art, whe­ther new­ly for­med or old, tried and te­sted can thus del­ve deep in­to that re­gi­on, whe­re words are su­per­fluous, gi­ving ri­se to a sen­sa­ti­on which may sp­rout li­ke a green shoot or ta­ke flight, as you mo­ve towards spring.

On the 23rd of March the­re is a pos­si­bi­li­ty of our ge­t­ting tog­e­ther at 18.00, in the Ca­fé Mot­ta for a ch­an­ge, to ex­ch­an­ge views wi­th Ni­co­le Baran­dun by ta­king a clo­ser look at the world of busi­nesses and eco­no­mic is­sues whilst in a ga­stro­no­mic set­ting. Du­ke Seid­mann, our Busi­ness De­a­con, will chair what would al­most cer­tain­ly be an in­for­ma­ti­ve en­coun­ter for our co­exi­stence in the Old Town and could gi­ve us pau­se to re­flect upon dif­fe­rent aspects of our own in­ter­ac­tions wi­th busi­ness and com­mer­ce.

WHEN ZU­RICH CEA­SED BE­ING RO­MAN CA­THO­LIC 

Just one year af­ter the stir­ring ex­pe­ri­ence world­wi­de of the 500-year ju­bi­lee of the Men­no­ni­te mo­ve­ment, the Ver­ein Fo­rum Pre­di­gern is or­ga­ni­s­ing a re­a­ding wi­th a dis­cus­sion on Wed­nes­day, 6th May. Cor­ne­lia Lau­ten­schütz from the association’s com­mit­tee will dis­cuss wi­th the aut­hor Pe­ter Kam­ber his hi­sto­ri­cal no­vel: «Die himm­li­schen Ver­su­chun­gen des Con­rad Gre­bel» (no Eng­lish tit­le as yet but trans­la­tes as «The ce­le­sti­al temp­t­ati­ons of Con­rad Gre­bel»). The re­a­ding and dis­cus­sion will ta­ke place at 18.30 in the Pre­di­ger­kir­che.

BEND­ORIM 

On the 10th May at 19.30, «Bend­orim» will ta­ke us on a mu­si­cal jour­ney from the ol­den days of Ea­stern Eu­ro­pe via Swin­ging Broad­way to the pre­sent day, which will be a homage to out­stan­ding song wri­ters, ly­ri­cists and per­for­mers such as Mol­ly Pi­con, Abra­ham Ell­stein, the Bar­ry Si­sters, Cha­va Al­bert­stein, Ali­za Green­blatt und ma­ny mo­re. This quin­tett of two fe­ma­le voices, cla­ri­net, ac­cor­de­on and dou­ble bass has be­en on the cir­cuit for ma­ny a year ap­pearing on va­rious stages, has fea­tured on SRF2 and will be pre­sen­ting its la­test pro­gram­me «a gol­de­ne nes­home» (a gol­den soul).  High spi­rits, mar­ria­ge, fun­da­men­tal que­sti­ons and so­me­ti­mes even year­ning will find ex­pres­si­on in new ar­ran­ge­ments and com­po­si­ti­ons in li­vely time si­gna­tures, which swing along in even and un­even rhyth­ms, as ex­em­pli­fi­ed by Cha­va Alberstein’s ar­gu­ab­ly most mo­ving Hymn to Love or Mol­ly Pi­con wi­th a twink­le in her eye –co­lourful, flam­boyant, pas­sio­na­te.

DI­VER­SI­TY RE­CON­CI­LED AND CON­SPI­COUS UNITY 

Sa­tur­day, 30th May, marks a spe­cial day. Du­ring the Eu­cha­rist Ser­vice, Tho­mas Münch will be than­ked and ac­clai­med, as he en­ters in­to his well-de­ser­ved re­ti­re­ment. This me­mo­rable oc­ca­si­on will go un­der the hea­ding «Di­ver­si­ty re­con­ci­led and con­spi­cuous unity». The­re will be a tri­bu­te, which will be fol­lo­wed by re­fresh­ments. Ho­we­ver life at the Pre­di­ger may con­ti­n­ue the­re­af­ter, it will keep us on our toes. This has be­en the wort­hy con­tri­bu­ti­on to the world’s po­pu­la­ti­on of peo­p­le de­di­ca­ted to di­ver­si­ty such as Tho­mas Münch and ma­ny of his pre­de­ces­sors.

«THE WORLD VI­SITS PRE­DI­GERN AND EL­SE­WHE­RE»…

IN­TER­RE­LI­GIOUS EN­COUN­TER WI­TH SPI­RI­TUA­LI­TY AND NEW MU­SIC  

A first in­ter­re­li­gious en­coun­ter wi­th spi­ri­tua­li­ty and new mu­sic is plan­ned for Fri­day, 19th Ju­ne, be­gin­ning wi­th the ves­per and con­ti­nuing th­rough Sa­tur­day, 20th Ju­ne. De­tail­ed in­for­ma­ti­on will be available se­ve­ral weeks in ad­van­ce. Along wi­th se­ve­ral mu­si­ci­ans and theo­lo­gi­ans this event can be said in the main to be the brain­child of Pe­ter Ca­disch.

CE­LE­BRA­TI­ON OF 1ST AU­GUST 

In­ci­den­tal­ly, the fourth mul­ti­re­li­gious ce­le­bra­ti­on for the 1st of Au­gust, on­ce again at 9.30, is al­re­a­dy be­ing plan­ned. This is a cons­truc­ti­ve con­tri­bu­ti­on in un­der­li­ning our tog­e­ther­ness in di­ver­si­ty and is a po­pu­lar pre­lude to the of­fi­ci­al na­tio­nal ce­le­bra­ti­on at the Bür­kli­platz. It has in the me­an­ti­me be­co­me mo­re or less estab­lished, but in spi­te of this it al­ways springs sur­pri­ses.

UN­DER THE SY­CA­MO­RE TREE 

In sum­mer, we shall on­ce again meet un­der the sy­ca­mo­re tree to deepen mu­tu­al ecu­me­ni­cal un­der­stan­ding, this time on the sub­ject of idols. Se­ve­ral Wed­nes­day evenings bet­ween the 14th of Ju­ly and the 12th Au­gust have be­en set asi­de for this. Fur­ther in­for­ma­ti­on will be available by Whits­un­ti­de, when re­ser­va­tions can al­so be ma­de. By the 1st of Sep­tem­ber and the be­gin­ning of Crea­ti­on­ti­de, the se­cond news­let­ter for 2026 should ap­pear in your mail­box (or drop in­to your let­ter box should you wish for a prin­ted co­py).

PRE­VIEW 

As an ad­van­ce no­ti­ce, our forum’s ou­ting on Sa­tur­day 5th Sep­tem­ber aims to ac­quaint you wi­th a dif­fe­rent si­de of Zü­rich. This will ta­ke the form of a walk th­rough Zü­rich Ci­ty and Zü­rich-North, whe­re we shall find out what the so­cial chal­lenges are he­re, and how the va­rious churches re­spond to the­se now, and what was do­ne in the past. We shall meet peo­p­le in­vol­ved in this, par­ta­ke of a good lunch and en­joy be­ing tog­e­ther. It will last from 10.00 un­til 16.00. A de­tail­ed de­scrip­ti­on wi­th an en­rol­ment form will fol­low in due cour­se.

In the Pre­di­ger­kir­che we ca­re about spi­ri­tua­li­ty on a dai­ly ba­sis by of­fe­ring va­rious pos­si­bi­li­ties to enhan­ce our spi­ri­tu­al life: 
  
- Mor­ning me­di­ta­ti­on and pray­er wi­th to­ne, si­lence and spo­ken word, every Thurs­day from 7.00 till 7.35 
- Mid­day pray­ers every we­ek­day from 12.15 till 12.35 
- Ves­pers every Fri­day at 18.30 till 19.15 
- Eu­cha­rist ser­vices on the last Sa­tur­day of every month at 16.00 
- Ecu­me­ni­cal Sun­day ser­vices on­ce a month at 11.00 
- Se­quen­tia, evening pray­er for 4 voices on­ce a month wi­th the  Stadt­klo­ster
